Samuel Jennings is a self-taught musician with over 25 years of experience playing the drums, eventually perfecting his gift while studying under the mentorship of Philip Lowman.
His musical influences include notable drum innovators such as Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Steve Gadd ,Steve Jordan, and Jeff"LO"Davis.
Samuel has graced the stage with Artists as diverse as The Winans, Bishop Paul Morton, John P. Kee, the late Pastor Timothy Wright and many others. He has also performed throughout the Tri-State area at venues such as Madison Square Garden, The Highline Ballroom,The Prudential Center, SOB's, Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Cotton Club, and The Blue Note, just to name a few.
Samuel, previously the official drummer for Kizmit and Rhythm Republik, is also a seasoned theatre musician, and has played for numerous Off Broadway plays, including "The Road" and "Dry Bones.'' Currently, Samuel is the drummer for Friendship Worship Center in Mt. Vernon, NY and has been for over 10 years. He also serves as the drummer for the NYC Interdenominational Gospel Choir and Marble Collegiate Church.
Samuel is a graduate of Hostos Community College with an A.A.S. in Digital Music, and is continuing his scholastic endeavors at Lehman College to fulfill the requirements for his B.A. in Music.
Samuel always puts God first in everything he endeavors, striving to remain humble while continuing to hone his gift and ministry in music.
